Inufib is made of Agave Inulin, which is a prebiotic ingredient that belongs to a class of fibers known as fructans. Agave Inulin is an organic dietary fiber which is extracted from the Tequilana Weber Agave plant. As dietary fiber, it decreases faecal transit time, reduces glycaemia response, lowers blood cholesterol and increases stool weight.
Agave fructans are fermented by bacteria and give lactic and short chain carboxylic acids as end-products of the fermentation. Conducted studies show that this fermentation leads to the selective stimulation of growth of the bifidobacteria population, making Agave fructans a prebiotic prototype.
